Lumagen 5348 HC1 LPS
Verified Purchase
I've had my LPS for my Lumagen 5348 for a few weeks now and can confirm it's a great upgrade, both picture and sound have substantively improved.
It's still not run in yet so it's continually improving.
Brent says 600 hours before it reaches it's full potential but already I'm thrilled with the performance.
I'm already thinking about the HC2 upgrade.
(I don't know if the website makes it clear but you can buy the HC1 and then upgrade to the HC2 by adding the PCB at home.)
A special mention to Brent, he's a top guy, always answered my many emails in a timely and professional manner.
If you're thinking about adding a LPS I can confirm it's very worthwhile.
One issue I need to mention is the fan noise.
When the Lumagen is fully running the LPS has to work hard and as such draws air in through the vents and pushes it out the back.
This can be an issue.
I resolved this by putting footers under the LPS to isolate it from the rack.
As I run a combined music / theatre system I now turn the LPS when not using is for cinema.
I checked with Lumagen as well as Brent that no issues would occur doing this.
When the cinema is running the projector makes a similar fan noise so its not as issue.
Additionally the fan noise seems to be getting less obtrusive as the LPS burns in.
All in all I'm very happy with the LPS upgrade, in fact I watched Kill Bill Vol 2 last weekend and I was blown away by how good both picture and sound were.
