C3 MkII N130 Clock DIY Upgrade Verified Purchase

C3 MkII clock board was installed in my Node N130 by local audio repair shop technician following the excellent instructions sent by Brent. Together with it EMI/RFI treamtment was applied as well. The result -everything worked great fom the start. What is the difference in sound after couple of months usage for break-in, having in mind I also have PD Creative linear power supply unit and filtering board installed before clock upgrade - the sound became clearer, as if fog is lifted and I am finally enjoying it without thinking for equipment using the analogue RCA output to Edifier S3000 pro active speakers. Compared to power supply upgrade to linear, which was night and day difference in my use case, clock upgrade effect is more subtle, but worthy as it brought that final piece of the puzzle that you may not know is missing back to the music. Now I can just listen and have fun without tinkering anymore.

Summary: Very happy with upgrade, RCA analogue output has become clearer and better defined, hdmi and optical inputs sound a way better and digital outputs like usb and coaxial have also great improvement. If you have better external dac may be that is where you will notice biggest impact of clock upgrade. I however do not and cannot elaborate on it further. Once more, thank you Brent for the excellent experience, communication, support and timely replies to my questions. Such an proficiency and engagement is rare these days.

The C3 MK2 transformation

"My goodness the C3 MK2 upgrade is amazing. As many a review will tell you, there was a night and day difference in the sound from the Node N130 after the PSU upgrade, but actually the day was somewhat hazy nonetheless - until the installation of the C3 MK2 Low Jitter Clock cleared up the weather for a glorious day with sunshine from a cloudless sky.

Real improvement

I wasn't sure what to expect, but...it works!

I use Node 3 only as a streamer, and mounting the C3 MK2 Low Jitter Clock brought real improvements to the digital outputs.

I use the coaxial output to connect the Node 3 to the DAC in the Luxman D-03X, and there is a BIG improvement in the sound.

Until you hear with your own ears...you don't believe.

Next Level

Substantial upgrade!

Got about 40 hours on the Node. It sounded great from the outset. The break in period was very abrupt, all of a sudden the Node completely changed! My dealer colleague and I have spent hundreds of hours refining our digital play back (pandemic playtime) We can unequivocally state the Bluesound Node with the Fidelity Audio reference interface board was a major upgrade. Then adding your clock board was monumental!

I can fully endorse your products as “game changers”. We have demoed your system against $10k Music servers, it was NOT CLOSE!

We even used the optical input on the Bluesound for TV audio, this was another substantial upgrade!
