Bluesound NODE 2i Reference Low Noise PSU + Interface
Fidelity Audio have developed two linear external low noise psus with interface pcb to vastly improve the audio quality of the Bluesound NODE 2i.
The Reference PSU is ideal for people with higher end systems who want to get the most from the Node 2i.
From the large current transformer and big smoothing capacitors chosen for their low ESR and ripple rejection to the precise vref and onto the ABT monitored low noise output this PSU really does stand head and shoulders above anything out in the market today in both design and performance. You wont find this level of quality PSU in anything manufactured at the high end of the audio market.
- Much lower noise floor
- Better low frequency response
- Much improved midrange and clarity
- Articulate high frequencies
- Linear sound
- Custom design for Node 2i
- Replaces original psu
- High quality capacitors fitted
- Improves audio
- Removes EMI / RFI from inside Node 2i
Reference PSU -
- 5.2V Output

"Reference Low Noise PSU - Interface pcb" from Fidelity Audio
I received the external power: the case is, so to speak, double the Node 2i!
For the installation, it's child's play: opening the case of the Node 2i, removing the cutting power and disassembling the IEC C7 base, replacing it with a quality capacitor card with connection to the main card and closing the Housing. At most, 45 mn of intervention!
Nevertheless, care should be taken to follow the instructions on the manufacturer's PDF document and, once the rear screws have been removed, carefully open the front part, as there are ergots that should not bebroken...
After completing the upgrade of the Bluesound Node 2i with the addition of a linear power supply "Reference Low Noise PSU - Interface pcb" from Fidelity Audio, then leave a 48-hour power-up period, the results of the listening after a weekend are in absolute positive!
The first contribution resulted in a slight increase in dynamics with increased speed, especially on small signals. In fact, an amazing amount of information becomes more audible, but the most important thing for me is that this contribution is not done in over definition, it simply complements the listening on all the bandwidth. At the same time, the modulation is faster, in fact it is more involving!
Indeed, this is characterized by more linkage between the notes, more harmonics, which to listen gives an increased presence on the voices, as well as on all aspects of the atmospheres related s to sound sockets: width, depth and even height.
This performance is established with homogeneity throughout the spectrum, it does not distort the sound signature of the Node 2i. Onthe contrary, it magnifies it by bringing out a host of information that, at the screen, was only foreshadowed, while waiting to integrate into musical reproduction.
To try to sum me up, the contribution of linear power made by Fidelity Audio does not fundamentally call into question the sound signature of Node 2i. In fact, it allows you to exploit all the quintessence with, for me, an impression of presence on the voices, but also all the other instruments, which involves you in the music by giving a closer proximity, allowing to better enter the atmosphere of recording, live, live.
We no longer ask questions, we have fun! Isn't that the ultimate goal?
