The upgrade offers a cleaner more dynamic sound. Treble becomes much more realistic by eliminating the harsh edge that is typical of Naim cd players. Midrange flows in a much more analogue way and bass extends deeper.

Adding the huge low noise off board psu for the clock isolates the clock from the cd players internal power rails where they pollute each other. This enables the clock to really perform to its best by bringing out more detail from a recording, lowering the noise floor and extending the bass further.
